The Severnside Community Rail Partnership aims to identify and implement measures to encourage the use of local train services on routes radiating from Bristol; to ensure that access to local stations is easy and that stations provide a safe and welcoming environment. The emphasis is working with partners and local communities to deliver quick wins and small scale practical initiatives that make local rail services more attractive and bring benefits to passengers

First Great Western is the sole operator of train services on the Severn Beach Line and also provides most local rail services in Greater Bristol as well as manages all local stations
